Italian death-doom behemoths Assumption return with their otherworldly debut LP - once again dragging the listener to a warped and hallucinated twilight zone lost at the edge of the cosmos. Inspired by the majestic and dismal craft of bands like Disembowelment, Thergothon and early Esoteric, within the crushing vastness of these three colossal songs the listener will feel the weight of omnipotent emptiness pushing them down toward the event horizon where they are slowly and meticulously pulled apart by invisible tidal forces before they decay into the singularity.

One of the best death metal albums I've ever heard. This LP combines elements of old school death metal with prog and experimental metal to create a truly unique sound. There is a noticable level of technicality in the composition, however not to a degree that detracts from the melody of the sound. The attack is consistent in it's brutality, but isn't in a mind numbing, grindy sprint and has no qualms with lowering the pace while maintaining aggression. This is album needs to be on your radar. camelhouse7
