David Fischer I blame nobody but myself for listening to this album only now (Dec '21), and I doubt that I shall ever find forgiveness. Topheth catapulted itself to the upper echelon of my black metal list very quickly, dwarfing almost every release I have heard in the past months in terms of abrasiveness, cohesion and sheer malice. The legions of hell may rise and devour this planet any moment, as Topheth is the adequately apocalyptic soundtrack for this happening. A terrifying slice of French black metal! Favorite track: Elevated to Him.

Shane Cotee Brutally fast, dark black metal with some motions towards doom and oldschool death metal. This is magick musick and I'm in love with it. Favorite track: Advent of the Prophet.

French satanic black metal horde Novae Militiae re-emerge with "Topheth" their brand new third full-length LP, presented to you via Sentient Ruin as a glorious limited edition three-sided double LP with etched D-side. On the hideous opus the French satanic legion further refine and sharpen their mortal aural blade, slicing reality into shreds to reveal a massive gaping aural wound that oozes and festers with the abhorrent virulence of complete armageddon. In its boundless glorification of destruction and inhumanity, "Topheth" gives orthodox satanism its most arrogant and intransigent voice, weaving an impenetrable fog of artillery-like drum machines, face-taring screams, and walls of deformed fretwork annihilation to trace the ravaging trajectories of complete torment and abandon. The negativity-encompassing album once again assumes a sinister ritualistic and liturgical splendor as well as the iconic theological and biblical delineations that have made this band so recognizable and unique through a marvelous juxtaposition of atmosphere and ferocity, threading a diseased tapestry of inverted sermons and perverse summonings to serve as textural backdrop to its primordial wrath of complete black metal incineration.
